From the program notes:

When I was informed that I could put any kind of program together for this recital, my first inclination was to do a program of completely original material. All of the music in this performance was written and arranged specifically for tonight, and it has been a great experience composing and refining these pieces. To be able to have this music come to life in the hands of such a talented group of musicians is truly a luxury. I am certain that if I could make a living playing with these musicians I would have the best job on earth.
My influences are many, but I love folk music, open guitar chords, and epic endings. My one goal when composing this material was to write honest music. It is my personal opinion that there is nothing better than a good melody.

Thank you Dave, Gabriel, John and Marcus for your talent, time, and for making this performance possible. It is an honor and pleasure to make music with you all. Thank you Ash, for your never ending support, encouragement, and understanding. Thank you Mom, for making it down to Austin for my recital, for giving me the tools to follow my dreams, and for always believing in me. Thank you to my friends from Marbridge that were able to come tonight. Thanks for always bringing a smile to my face, telling me that I’m crazy, and for reminding me that there is so much more to life than just music. Without life, music is meaningless. Thank you all for taking time out of your busy day to come to this performance. I appreciate it very much.
